Welcome to my world…
It figures. I had written out my first couple blog posts and saved them so when I was ready to go “live” with my blog I would have them. Guess what?! Can’t find them – anywhere! Welcome to my world!
It’s not normally like this. I am reasonably organized and can usually find things – mine, my husband’s – but for some reason, these have disappeared. I might think someone doesn’t want me starting this blog. Hmmm, wonder who THAT could be!
But it is still happening, and I am glad you are here with me as I embark on this journey of blogging. It’s something I have wanted to do for a while, for oh so many reasons. Some are:
- I’m a writer, and as a writer I have so much to say and share that sometimes I want to explode onto the page… but no worries, I won’t.
- I have been asked my many who have read my book, “Healing the Broken Places,” to have a place where those reading it can interact and ask questions. Fair enough. It’s really an exciting thought and I understand the need to want someone to walk with you when you are going through struggles and healing and to have someone there who understands and has walked the path. We’ll do that here.
- Issues of hurts are near and dear to my heart… as a minister, counselor and as a survivor of abuse. And these are issues that, as Christians, we need to talk about. Not just in passing, but really delve into with concern and compassion. We’ll do that here as well.
- Sometimes we need to be lighthearted to get away from our troubles and struggles, even if only for a few minutes… so this isn’t all serious down trodden stuff. Sometimes, we’ll laugh together. Ever seen the picture of Laughing Jesus? It’s great. It reminds us that we need to take time out for fun.
So as we begin this journey, welcome to my world! It is busy, exciting, tiring, uplifting and spiritual. It is a life that attempts to honor God in all I do. I sometimes fail, but I try.
So some basic guidelines for blogging here:
1. We are all made in the image of God and therefore deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Please do so in all interactions. They are conversations, not criticisms.
2. Do not question anyone’s intelligence, spirituality or motives; NO PERSONAL ATTACKS allowed!
3. Do not tell someone what they believe. Instead, ask them.
4. Avoid sarcasm. Sarcasm is rarely funny and is often a sign of anger, and it often offends even when not intended. Be safe, don’t use it.
5. Comments should be concise and relate directly to post content.
6. Please use your name. I am not a fan of anonymous comments UNLESS it is for safety reasons. If it is because you are hiding behind anonymity to say something not nice, it’s not nice. Respect others by telling us to whom we are speaking.
Comments which do not follow the guidelines may be edited or deleted.
Commenting on this blog is a privilege. Decisions by the Blog Owner are final.
So… ready? Let’s start a conversation. Welcome to my world!
